CHRISTINE SISMONDO

Author of America Walks into a Bar, a history of taverns and saloons in the United States, Toronto-based writer and columnist Christine Sismondo, PhD, has been writing about history, drinks and health for the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, Imbibe and various other publications for over twenty years. Sismondo is also the author of Prohibition, a six-part podcast series for Wondery’s American History Tellers; co-author of Canadian Spirits: The Essential Cross-Country Guide to Distilleries, Their Spirits, and Where to Imbibe Them and, most recently, with co-authors James Waller and Todd M. Casey, Cocktails, A Still Life. Sismondo is also an Academy Chair for World’s 50 Best Bars and North America’s Best Bars.
