Ungava is arguably the most well known of all Canadian gins, arctic botanicals hand foraged from Northern Quebec, craft our uniquely yellow gin.
The botanicals are slowly steeped for five weeks, allowing the natural extraction
of complex flavor. The final blend is a gin unlike any other – RECOGNIZED AROUND THE WORLD FOR ITS UNMISSABLE color and unmatched flavor. As you would imagine, Ungava gin is recognized for its distinct color, a vibrant yellow that is developed through the production process, and its six core botanicals. Ungava is not a distilled gin in the traditional sense; the gin is made in two parts.
First, an initial distillation using spirit with several of the botanicals - Juniper, angelic seed, coriander, lemon, and orange peel - to make a base gin. Then a secondary five-week steeping process with the arctic botanicals in neutral grain spirit. Both are blended together to create a savory and robust flavor and color in the finished product. It is bottled at 43.1 % abv.
